Birds On the Niagara International Bird Festival: A Winter Celebration

February 16, 2024 February 19, 2024

Join us for a Presidents Day/Family Day holiday celebration for this International Bird Festival. Visit the region including Niagara Falls, one of the natural wonders of planet earth.

In late winter, many of Niagara’s bird species are in breeding plumage and are exhibiting courtship behavior. Waterfowl (including Tundra Swans and many species of ducks), up to 19 species of gulls (including rare and unusual species), Snowy Owls, and other irruptive species use this Niagara River Corridor Globally Significant Important Bird Area as winter habitat. Birding on the Niagara River is as good as winter birding gets!

Birds on the Niagara celebrates winter birding with both indoor and outdoor programming on both sides of the border. The focus is on birds and the conservation needs and progress in the International Niagara River Corridor.

BON proudly promotes social inclusion programming including events for people of all ages, programs with the LGBQT+ community, indigenous peoples programs, and programs with people of color.

BON has programs for birders and conservation enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels.

Registration is required for some programs. Some in-person tours require small fees, and many of the programs are free and open to the public.

More information on BON24 programming and accommodations will be available in late 2023 at our website: http://www.birdniagara.org.
